Anthony Basil

Mr. Anthony Ray “Tony” Basil of Metcalfe County, Kentucky, son of Bruce Basil and the late Judy Whobrey Basil, was born on December 20, 1966 in Louisville, Kentucky. He departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Ascension St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee having attained the age of 58 years, seven months and 18 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Basil was a carpenter and employed by Scotty’s Reo. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include two daughters: Stephanie Basil and fiancé Jason Scott, and Taylor Carol all of Metcalfe County; two sons: Bruce “Jr.” Basil of Metcalfe County, and Javen Basil of Bardstown; two grandchildren; his father: Bruce Basil of Metcalfe County; two brothers: Michael Basil and Phillip Basil, both of Metcalfe County; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his mother, Mrs. Judy Basil, he was also preceded in death by one son, Jesse Basil.

Funeral services for Mr. Anthony Ray “Tony” Basil will be conducted at 12 Noon, Central Time on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Big Meadow Church Cemetery. Bro. Donnie Perry officiating.

Visitation is requested on Tuesday after 10 AM, Central Time, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
