OBITUARY

Charles Arnold Jones (1962-2025)

“Grief is just love with no place to go.” Jamie Anderson

A husband, father, brother, uncle and friend will be forever missed as we honor the transition of Charles A Jones to his heavenly home. Charles was the youngest child of Nannie and Leonard Jones and grew up on his family’s farm in Burlington, North Carolina, surrounded by family and friends who doted on him. Charles was a smart, verbal child never missing an opportunity to be mischievous and full of wit and he continued those traits into adulthood. Charles was baptized as a young child at Jeffries Cross Baptist located in Burlington N.C.

One of his greatest joys was showing kindness and care to those he met. Without a lot of fanfare, it was important for Charles to share with others. He loved cooking and grilling with an end goal of sharing meals with neighbors and friends and for years assisted local churches in preparing annual community holiday meals. Several years ago Charles displayed his downhome culinary skills during a 3 day Thanksgiving feast for family at the Kentucky farm. Charles was employed by Asplundh Tree and vegetation company for many years earlier in his life. He retired as a certified butcher from FairPlay Meat . After retirement, he enjoyed spending most of his time being outdoors tending to his animals and gardening on the farm.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth and their son, Charles Thomas . Charles will be sorely missed by his siblings, Sylvia, Frankie (Alease), Millie Joanne (Robert ) and Thomas as well as his nieces, nephews and extended family . He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dr. Norma Jones, CDR, USN.

A memorial service and celebration of Charles’ life will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, one can best honor Charles by showing kindness, a smile and paying the magic of goodness forward in a loving deed.

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us”. Helen Keller
