Mrs. Cora Mae Dial Armer of the Pierce Community of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Lucian and Lena Bell Dial, was born on October 7, 1945 in Adair County, Kentucky. She departed this life on Monday, September 8, 2025 at her home having attained the age of 79 years, 11 months and one day.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Trammell Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Armer worked at Fruit of the Loom for several years and enjoyed painting, cooking, gardening, playing Solitaire, Yahtzee and mowing her yard. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mammaw.”
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, David Rex Armer, having united in marriage on July 29, 1966.
In addition to her husband, David Armer of Pierce, other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: David Wayne and Lissa Armer of Summersville; one daughter and son-in-law: Juanita Houk and Tracy Gilbert of Pierce; six grandchildren: Jeffrey and Sara Houk, Kyle Houk, Cody Houk and fiancé Sierra Demurray, Hunter Armer and fiancé Tara Pierce, and Chase and Hope Armer all of Greensburg, and Brianna and Dillon Shrout of Frankfort; nine great-grandchildren: Cooper Houk, Sawyer Houk, Raegan Houk, Alaya Houk, Remi Littleton, Aria Armer, Caleb Armer, Nova Shrout and Braxton Shrout; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Magaline and James Skaggs of Greensburg, Janie and Jim Borders of Campbellsville, and Sue and Bill Murray of Summersville; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Johnnie and Regina Dial, Luther and Brenda Dial all of Summersville, Bobby Dial of Greensburg, and Billy and Leetta Dial of Campbellsville: one sister-in-law: Josie Dial of Greensburg; one brother-in-law: Larry Eads of Summersville; plus a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Dial, and one sister, Doris Eads.
The funeral services for Mrs. Cora Mae Armer will be conducted at 11 AM, Central Time, on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Lloyd Dial and Bro. Dannie Nelson officiating.
Visitation is requested on Thursday from 2 PM until 8 PM, Central Time, and after 7 AM Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to TRH Cancer Center Make Today Count Organization, Holly Grove Baptist Church or Trammell Creek Baptist Church, all of which can be made at the funeral home.
