Danny Joe Rodgers

Mr. Danny Joe Rodgers of Adair County, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph Simpson Rodgers and Lennie Merle Keltner Rodgers, was born on June 15, 1949 in Adair County, Kentucky. He departed this life on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Columbia, Kentucky having attained the age of 76 years, four months and one day.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Pickett’s Chapel Church.

He was affectionately known as “Poppy” by his grandchildren, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming.

Danny retired from the maintenance department at Campbellsville University.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Baker Rodgers, on April 17, 2019.

Survivors include one son: Byron (Erica) Rodgers of Columbia; two daughters: Shelley (Shawn) Phillips & Misty (Jarrod) Willis all of Columbia; eight grandchildren: Jayden Willis, Trevor Willis, CJ and Katherine Rodgers, Jenna Rodgers, Byron Rodgers, Ryder Rodgers, Maddox Phillips and Addison Phillips; one sister-in-law: Judy Rodgers of Elizabethtown; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Rodgers.

The funeral service for Mr. Danny Joe Rodgers will be conducted at 2 PM, Central Time, on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Adair County. Bro. Brian Fudge officiating.

Visitation is requested after 9 AM, Central Time, on Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers: David Pierce, Glenn Corbin, Troy Handley, Wade Rodgers, Steven Baker, Ronnie Bishop, Ziggy Newton, Bill Harris and Jack Beard

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the Antioch Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
