Elizabeth Sanders

Mrs. Elizabeth Dickerson Sanders of Adair County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Verlie Stearns Dickerson, was born on June 27, 1936 in Albany, Kentucky. She departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2024 at her residence having attained the age of 87 years, eight months and 14 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel T. Sanders, on April 17, 2014. Mrs. Sanders was a retired school teacher, having taught for nearly 33 years in Kentucky and Ohio.

Survivors include one son: Christopher T. Sanders of Columbia, Kentucky; one daughter: Lisa Ann Sanders (Doug) Cantrell of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; one brother: James M. (Mary) Dickerson of Paris, Kentucky and one sister: Virginia Burke of Florida. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: John Q. Dickerson and Cordell F. Dickerson; and three sisters: Frances D. Vincent, Iva Lee Summers and Lena Mae Copeland.

Graveside services for Mrs. Elizabeth Sanders will be conducted at 3 P.M., Central Time, on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. 

Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg is in charge of the arrangements.
