Jennifer Downey

Mrs. Jennifer Carol Whitlock Downey of Mount Sherman, Kentucky, daughter of Ronald Whitlock and Gale Dean Cruse Whitlock, was born on September 9, 1981 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky having attained the age of 42 years, six months and 17 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Jennifer was employed by Progressive Insurance Company. 

As simply described by her family, “She was the best wife, mother and Christian, ever.”  

She united in marriage to Bradley Downey on December 19, 1998, who survives. 

Also surviving are two daughters: Elizabeth Nicole Downey and Lyndsey Brooke Downey, both of Mount Sherman.

In addition to her parents, Ronald Whitlock and Gale Dean Cruse Whitlock, other survivors include one brother and sister-in-law: Eli and Jessica Whitlock; her grandmother: Dorothy Cruse; plus a host of other relatives and friends. 

Jennifer was preceded in death by a sister, Christy Dailey, and her grandfather, Leo Cruse.

Graveside services for Mrs. Jennifer Downey will be conducted at 4 P.M., Eastern Time, on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Hammondsville Cemetery with Bro. Jeremy Yokley officiating.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.
