Lester Williamson

Mr. Lester Albert “Les” Williamson of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Fred and Mary Matyka Williamson, was born on July 30, 1950 in Gary, Indiana. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky having attained the age of 74 years, 11 months and 30 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Hodges Chapel Church. Mr. Williamson served his Country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

After retiring from truck driving, he enjoyed spending time at T-Mart drinking coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Shelia Money Williamson, having united in marriage on July 16, 1983.

In addition to his wife, Shelia Williamson of Summersville, other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Lindsay and Jami Couch of Tennessee; two grandchildren: Adalynn Carrie Couch and Jude Benjamin Couch, both of Tennessee; three sisters: Karen Shepard and Esther Zimmerman both of Indiana, and Eleanor “Dee Dee” Bray of Florida; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pat Williamson of Indiana, Shirley and Jerry Bale, and Michael Scott Money all of Summersville, C.E. and Judy Money of Greensburg, and Sharon and Richard Milby of Glasgow; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Jewell Williamson, Frances and Noel Willis, and Ellen and Bart Ahern; and three brothers and one sister-in-law: Fred and Bev Williamson, Dale Williamson and Rodney Williamson.

The funeral services for Mr. Lester “Les” Williamson will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Hodges Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veteran Honor Guard. Bro. Meryl Young officiating.

Visitation is requested from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, on Friday and after 7 A.M. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the Hodges Chapel Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearer: Richard Milby

Arrangements are under the direction of Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg.
