Matthew Paxton Rattliff was a father, a carpenter, a storyteller, and a self proclaimed archeologist.
Matt was the son of the late Ronnie Rattliff and Dianne Paxton. He was born on July 10th, 1973 in Taylor County, Kentucky, and he passed away on September 10th, 2024 at his home in Green County, Kentucky.
At 51 years of age, Matt left behind a son and daughter, Levi Rattliff and Macy Rattliff. He is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, William Lewis and Tana Rattliff and Creighton and Emily Bloyd.
In addition to his parents, Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walker “Auby” Paxton and Delia Paxton, both of whom he admired and spoke of often.
Matt enjoyed exploring Russell Creek, searching for rocks and other artifacts, fishing, and telling stories with his friends and family. While he only lived 51 years on this Earth, he had stories for a hundred years’ worth of adventures.
Matt was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where he will be laid to rest alongside his mother and grandparents.
The funeral services for Mr. Matt Rattliff will be held at 11 A.M., Central Time, on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church under the direction of the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation is requested from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, on Friday at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 7 A.M. until 8 A.M., Central Time, at the funeral home and then after 9 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, which can be made at the funeral home.
