Mr. Nolan Lee Cole of Columbia, Kentucky, son of the late Sylvester and Elsie Coomer Cole, was born on December 14, 1951 in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He departed this life on April 28, 2022 at his home having attained the age of 70 years, four months and fourteen days.
He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Knifley Christian Church where he served as an Elder.
Nolan was a retired property manager for Spring Ridge Meadows Apartments. He enjoyed spending time on the farm and worked for Wiser Farms for numerous years. Nolan was part owner of Cole’s Lawn Care. He loved to garden, and especially tell his family how to garden – the right way. He also enjoyed hunting and being at the hunting cabin on the farm. He often visited the Pool Room where he could be found talking with friends or meeting a new one. He never met a stranger. Mr. Cole was a longtime member of the Adair County Jaycees. Nolan especially loved his grandchildren, who they referred to as “Pa.”
He united in marriage to Judy Williams Cole on June 26, 1970 at the Knifley Christian Church, who survives.
Besides his wife, other survivors include two sons: Jamie Cole (Beth Holmes) of Columbia and Jeremy and Danielle Cole of Somerset; former special daughter-in-law: Tricia Cole of Columbia; seven grandchildren: Taylor Cole (Trevor Willis), Shelby Cole, Ashley Cole, Jon Cole, Jace Cole, David Cole and Matthew Cole; one sister and brother-in-law: Linda Bea and Ralph Jackson of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Julia Loy and Joan Lawless-Loy, and one niece: Deborah Jo Lawless.
The funeral services for Mr. Nolan Cole will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Central Time, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Knifley Christian Church, 7710 Elkhorn Road, Knifley, KY 42753 with burial to follow Columbia City Cemetery. Bro. Hugh Withers and Bro. Jeremy Cole officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Central Time, Friday at the Knifley Christian Church and after 7:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the service.
Pallbearers: Charles Shirley, Barry Bennett, Melvin Johnson, Tommy Grider, Mike Robertson, Michael Mann, Bug Knight and Mike Curry
Honorary Pallbearers: Trevor Willis, Charles England, Jeff Coffey, Ricky Coffey, Cebert Sherill, Travis Hatfield, Josh Bullock, Ty Bennett, Danny Hatcher, Todd Grider and Nolan’s nephews.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be in the form of donations to The Julia Loy Endowment Fund at Lindsey Wilson College or the Ronald McDonald House of Nashville, both of which can be made at the church or the funeral home.
Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg is in charge of the arrangements.
