Rita Faye Smith

Rita Faye Smith of Columbia, Kentucky, daughter of the late Leamer “Bud” Smith and Lena McGowan Wright, was born on April 27, 1954 in Eli, Kentucky. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the T.J. Health Columbia having attained the age of 71 years, six months and 15 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Jason and Wendy Grant, Bryan and Karen Ballou all of Columbia, and Tim Ballou of Campbellsville; grandchildren: Timmy and Chasity Ballou, Jayce and Heather Grant, Tiffany and Timothy Mullins, Owen and Emma Grant, Ty Ballou, Raylee Lawhorn and Treyton Ballou; several great-grandchildren; one brother: James T. Smith of Louisville; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Zula and Paul Coomer of Berea, Alva and Don Smith of Russell Springs, Judy Smith and Cathie Rogers both of Jamestown; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Gaye Goodin.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg.
