Ms. Shirley Faye Durrett of the Gabe Community of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Earl Durrett and Mary Hazel Ward Durrett, was born on February 26, 1937 in Green County, Kentucky. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Green River Trails in Greensburg having attained the age of 88 years, ten months and 18 days.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Ms. Shirley will be lovingly remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering kindness. She was especially known as a wonderful cook who faithfully helped prepare meals for church gatherings.
Ms. Shirley’s life was marked by many quiet acts of kindness. She was a caring friend and a good neighbor.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law: Earl Durrett, Jr. and Evelyn of New Hampshire; one sister: Brenda Kay Larson of Maine; one special niece and nephew: Michela Larimore and P.J. Troy of Campbellsville; one special great niece: Mackenzie Larimore of Campbellsville; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Jerry Donald Durrett, Billy Joe Durrett and Diane Durrett Larimore-Troy.
The funeral service for Ms. Shirley Durrett will be conducted at 11 AM, Central Time, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home with burial to follow in Aetna Grove Cemetery. Bro. Casey Durrett officiating.
Visitation is requested on Saturday after 10 AM, Central Time, until the time of the service.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to Aetna Grove Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.
