Mr. Wallace Ray Akin of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Leslie "Pat" Akin and Eliza Estelle Neagle Akin, was born September 8, 1943, in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, January 28th, 2024 at Hosparus Health in Louisville, KY. He was 80 years, 4 months, and 20 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army and a retired game warden of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. He was the owner and operator of W.R. Akin Trucking in Greensburg in the late 90s. He also worked for the Department of Corrections in LaGrange, KY in the early 2000s. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge 54 of Greensburg as well as a lifetime member of the Green County Sportsman Club.
He enjoyed hunting in his younger years but loved fishing all throughout his life. If he wasn’t out on the water, he would be watching it on tv or talking about it.
