William Lee Berry

Summersville

Mr. William Lee Berry of the Summersville community of Green County, son of the late Otha Isaiah Berry and Bertha Matilda McCubbins Berry, was born on November 29, 1947 in Green County, Kentucky. He departed this life on Saturday, July 22, 2023 having attained the age of 75 years, seven months and 23 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Allendale Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Berry was a former mechanic and welder.

He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Marion Sue Wathen Berry, having united in marriage on August 22, 1968.

Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Gordon and Angela Berry of Summersville and Jason and Michelle Berry of Jonesville; seven grandchildren: Zachariah and Noelle Berry, Nathan and Katelyn Berry, Rachel and Joseph Brangers, Brylee Berry, Greyson Berry, Talon Berry and Hudson Berry; three great-grandchildren: Elijah, Elsie and Aubrey; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Cindy Shelton, Juanita and Boyce Dobson and Betty and Tom Downey all of Summersville, and Martha and Monta Childress of Mount Sherman; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Finis and Babs Berry and Jimmy and Rita Berry all of Summersville; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Otis Eugene and Maybelle Berry; one sister and brother-in-law: Lethia and Billy Milby; and a brother-in-law: Leroy Shelton.

The funeral services for William Berry will be conducted at 12 Noon, Central Time, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Gupton – Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Bennett Cemetery. Bro. Gordon Berry officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, on Monday and after 7 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the family burial fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
