William Russell

William Howard Russell of Lebanon, Kentucky, son of Gary Dean Russell and Rosemary May, was born on December 8, 1987 in Lebanon, Kentucky. He departed this life on Friday, July 24, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky having attained the age of 38 years, seven months and 16 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist and Nazarene faith. Will graduated from ECTC with an industrial maintenance degree. He loved spending time with his daughter and adding to his collection of sneakers.

Survivors include his daughter: Tillie Wren Russell of Indiana; his father: Gary Dean Russell of Summersville; his mother: Rosemary May of Lebanon; one sister and brother-in-law: Shannon and Mike Whitlock of Hodgenville; aunts and uncles: Wanda Beyer of Louisville, Ben and Beverly Russell, Debbie Russell, and Phillip and Wilma Milby all of Summersville, Tim and Kim May, Tom and Mary May, and Patsy and Jerry Gribbins all of Lebanon; a nephew: Axel Whitlock of Hodgenville; the mother of his daughter: Shayland Potts; a special friend: Ashley Wright; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by an aunt and two uncles: Louise Milby, Robert Beyer and Barry Russell.

The funeral service for William Russell will be conducted at 11 AM, Central Time, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Russell Cemetery in Gabe. Bro. Victor Matney and Bro. Daniel Raikes officiating.

Visitation is requested on Monday from 3 PM until 8PM, on Tuesday from 7 AM until 8PM and after 7AM Wednesday, until the time of the service at the funeral home. All times are central.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the trust fund established for Tillie, which can be made at the funeral home.
