Carolyn A. (Beard) Gupton

Campbellsville

Mrs. Carolyn Annette Beard Gupton, of Campbellsville, Kentucky was born on July 10, 1937 in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late George Delious Beard and Margarett Miller Beard. She departed this life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her home having attained the age of 84 years, three months and eleven days.


She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a long-time member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was an avid genealogist and was a member of the Adair County and Green County Genealogy Societies and the Taylor County Historical Society. She was also a member of the Jane Lampton Chapter of the NSDAR, The National Society of The Daughters of the Union and the National Society of the Daughters of 1812. Carolyn was also an avid horticulturist and enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting.


She united in marriage on June 10, 1954 to George Gupton, who survives.


Besides her husband, she is survived by two loving daughters: Denise Gupton and Judy Walden, and Laura Gupton and fiancé Thomas Gentry all of Campbellsville; one loving son: John D. Gupton and wife Vicki of Summersville; one granddaughter, Hannah Lea Gupton Lovett and husband Daniel of Campbellsville; one brother and one sister: Joe Beard and wife Mildred, and Patti Benningfield and husband Roger, all of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.


The funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Gupton will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Central Time, Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery. Rev. Dale Curry officiating.


Visitation is requested after 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Central Time, Sunday and after 7:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.


Expressions of sympathy should be made in the form of donations to the Greensburg United Methodist Church Building Fund, and those can be made at the funeral home.
