Carolyn (English) Hall

Summersville

Mrs. Carolyn English Hall, of the Summersville community of Green County, was born on March 13, 1939 in Adair County, Kentucky to the late Charles Baker and Lillian Pearl Blakeman English. She departed this life on December 17, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky having attained the age of 82 years, nine months and four days.


She united in marriage to William Charlie Hall on February 7, 1958, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2012.


Mrs. Hall professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of Hodges Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School treasurer and a Sunday School teacher in past years. She loved her family, enjoyed growing flowers and was an avid bird watcher. She worked at the Corner Drug Store when she was young, and then at Memorial Gardens, Shively Jewelers and Fruit of the Loom. Her husband was a dairy farmer and she helped him with the dairy farm operations for many years. Together, they shared a decades-long friendship with Bill and Shirley Whitlow in which they spent their Saturday evenings enjoying a good meal with them for nearly forty years. Carolyn spent the last three years of her life being cared for by the staff at the Grandview in Campbellsville.


Carolyn and Charlie were blessed with two daughters and two sons-in-law: Cynthia Lynn and Roger Caldwell of Greensburg and Sandra Carol and Tim Jeffries of Summersville. Other survivors include: three grandchildren: Clint and Nicole Jeffries of Campbellsville, Shane Richards and fiancé Marcie Edwards of Summersville and Brinleigh Caldwell and fiancé Jack Gupton of Greensburg; three great-grandchildren: Gavin, Austin and Olivia Jeffries all of Campbellsville; one sister and brother-in-law: Margie and Howard Simpson of Glasgow; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.


She was preceded in death by one grandson: Timmy Jay Jeffries, Jr. and one great-grandson: Landon Jarrod Jeffries; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Louise and Jim Weir and Geneva and William Owen Penick; and one brother and sister-in-law: Bobby and Vernie English.


The funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Hall will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Hodges Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Meryl Young officiating. Visitation is requested after 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Sunday and after 7 A.M. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.


Expressions of sympathy should be made in the form of donations to the Hodges Chapel Cemetery Fund or Gideon Bibles, and those can be made at the funeral home.
